Clemson OL out for Season with Injury

Clemson Tigers offensive lineman, Will Putnam, is out for the season with an injury. Putnam suffered a torn ACL in the Tigers' 34-10 win over The South Carolina State Bulldogs on Saturday, August 31st.

The injury is a big blow to the Tigers' offensive line, which is already without starting right tackle, Walker Parks. Putnam was expected to start at left guard this season.

Putnam is a redshirt junior from Greenville, South Carolina. He has started 18 games in his Clemson career.

What does this mean for Clemson?

Putnam's injury will likely force the Tigers to move musical chairs along the offensive line. Sophomore Tristan Leigh is expected to move from right guard to left guard to replace Putnam. Redshirt freshman Marcus Tate could start at right guard.

The Tigers could also look to redshirt freshman Collin Sadler or true freshman Blake Miller to fill in at guard.

How will Clemson adjust?

The Tigers will need to adjust to playing without Putnam, who is one of their most experienced offensive linemen. Clemson has a lot of depth on the offensive line, but Putnam's absence will still be felt.

The Tigers will need to find a way to replace Putnam's experience and leadership and hope no other offensive linemen go down with season-ending injuries.
