Animal Control Responds to Harrowing Call
50 Live Cats Rescued, Multiple Dead Cats Found in Refrigerator
In a shocking and disturbing incident, animal control officers were called to a residence after receiving a call about a strong odor and suspected animal hoarding. Upon arrival, they discovered a horrific scene: a refrigerator filled with multiple dead cats, and approximately 50 live cats in various stages of neglect.
The live cats were immediately seized and taken into protective custody. Many of the animals were suffering from malnutrition, dehydration, and other health issues. Animal control officers also discovered numerous deceased cats inside the refrigerator, some of which appeared to have been frozen.
The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time. The owner of the residence is facing potential charges of animal cruelty and neglect. The rescued cats are currently receiving veterinary care and rehabilitation at local animal shelters.
